One last thing you can try:

Open in MPC
index.php?t=getfile&id=4581&private=0
Right click the video and hit properties
index.php?t=getfile&id=4582&private=0
Details tab
index.php?t=getfile&id=4583&private=0

Screenshot the details tab there for us and lets see what codec your video is trying to use.

If every player on your computer cant play any avi then your most likely going to have to reinstall windows.

Thats usually a last resort but unless you did something easy like installed some beta video drivers or something our help is limited.

Some things that may have caused the problem:

File end
1) Installing some massive codec pack that doesn't assign the correct codec to format type.

2) Not using Xvid and Divx - These formats can handle just about every codec that isn't specially limited to a product (Fraps codec ect) That means you shouldn't be installing these massive codec packs because there is no need for them.

3) FourCC code is incorrect for the specific file. Use FourCC changer to change the type to Xvid and try in MPC. (Comes with Xvid)

4) Format is one of the newer formats that are soon to become one of the standards for high definition video IE: Mkv - In this case use VLC

Computer end

1) Video drivers are faulty.

2) Direct show has a problem with your hardware, most to all video players use DS to render video except for VLC.

3) File type was not designed for attempted player.
