Well, try to imagine that nothing existed. Absolutely nothing at all. It can't just be blank white space, because space is something, as well as the shade of White.

It can't just be a ringing sound because a sound is something.

I guess you could think of it like this:

Our world.. or our universe is like a drawing on paper. It started out as a blank sheet which was as close to "nothing" as it can get. Than it was drawn onto that "nothing."

Although that "nothing" implies that something was existing for there to be something. The space for creation to take place..
