Their are far more accents in the united states then they 2 you mentioned. For example my relatives are Pennsylvania-Dutch. Its like an american german accent.

If you call it "Pennsylvania-Dutch" then I would *think* it would be more like an American-Dutch accent Wink

Yes Dutch it a different language then german.

More ontopic:
Technically British-English is the original form of english, since the USA-English originated out of a mix of British-English, Dutch, German, Itallian, and whatever other country had lot of people migrating to the USA. This is probably also the reason why you say it like to spell it, as that would be the most logical way to learn it.
