Its possible.... But not easy. Theres 2 ways, both involve heavy javascript.

First way is to use an iframe. On load its tiny and doesn't actually have a page assigned, then onclick you resize it and make it open another page.

The other way is using ajax and a <div> or some other block object. I'm not 100% sure though if its possible to get an image properly loaded through ajax.
