The blame doesn't always concern those countries (although they may house some people responsible). Iraq was to my mind mainly about Saddam Hussein and what he was doing to his people there. They said there were weapons of mass destruction but it seems they haven't been found even now. I am definitely pro going to war with Iraq and although the news is always negative on the matter (the death count is truly depressing). If you look at the big picture as to where these beliefs and extremities come from A LOT of them are actually coming from Pakistan. In Pakistan there are actually special camps that effectively breed these people and from them they will then go out and recruit. Although Pakistan does do something to get rid of them it probably doesn't do nearly enough and to be quite honest I don't know if any country in the world has the balls to take on what is a powerful Muslim state.

Overall I feel that the war in Afghanistan was the result of 9/11 (and rightly so) however 9/11 has been used as a reason to get the American people behind going to war in Iraq (the global war against terrorism). In my opinion the war in Iraq was only loosely related to 9/11 and was predominantly about getting rid of a Tyrant doing unspeakable things to his people and I think other people may share this (outside of the US).
