Report me then. Honestly even if I had paid $5 for this image, I would remove the text at the bottom anyway because as I said, it ruins wallpaper. Fact is you can download this image off of usenet and dozens of other places, so I'm not too worried about the police coming to my door because I downloaded a wallpaper image from a public site and altered it.

While you are on the phone with EA, also tell them how I defiled the Renegade logo to create the RenGuard logo Smile

How would you feel if you made a very nice wallpaper and someone removed your copyright and distributed it? Hell, if what you're saying is justified, then everyone making maps or modifications for games are infringing by putting their copyrights in their work. You could argue it both ways though, and it creates a lot of contradiction.

If you're going to release this wallpaper like that, you should distribute it the way you found it, and do as you wish for yourself otherwise.
