I'm affraid that serial numbers for renegade can be found on the internet also. But the technology to ban by serialkey exists, if I'm not mistaken, it's intergrated in the UNRULES banning system.

$5-$30 or the 5-15 minutes for a serial off of the Internet isn't enough of a barrier to a determined cheater. $50-$400/unban, (CPU or Mobo), now you are talking about a money drainer...
