Yeah, I expect M$ are doing all they can to stop piracy.. why I don't know since it would just push more people with tight budgets to other operating systems, but they like to be seen to be doing something about it.

I don't know anything about the technical details of how vista blocks ports, but I expect someone will crack the core OS if needed if that's what it takes to unlock them again. It might slow down p2p in the long run, but someone somewhere will get past it.

And there's nothing to stop people dual booting with linux to get their p2p fix...


Like I said, it is also a physical, hardware issue. I "Mod" chip will be needed. Although the dual boot issue isnt one I thought about. Now im thinking, if you used linux on a vista-built-factory PC, with the port limitaion, would it have the same effect as with Vista? Good question, anyone know the answer? Big Grin
