Google is your friend. That's why I use Google to bypass filters.
How? Simple.

Scroll on down to "Translate a web page:". Translate the page you wish to visit from German->English (or Anything->English) then hit Translate.
Boom. Instant filter-bypasser. Always works for moi.

Didn't work for me either. I suppose it all depends on how the school blocks websites.
