Is it a software firewall? If it is, just configure it to allow access. If the game hangs in the "requesting server list", the firewall has probably made a popup which asks for permission, you just can't see it because you're running a full-screen application. (Seriously, this is causing SO many problems when people think their game crashes when it's just the firewall instead. Might be a nice idea to make games connect before going full-screen, like DoW)
There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.
