If freedom is something of importance (to you) in the Middle East, then tell me... Why have relations with Libya been reestablished lately?

Qaddafi was considered as a threat for quite a while, but it appears that ever since he sort of "opened himself" (by offering oil deals with countries, Unions (like the UN) and companies) to the Occident, that stuff no longer matters!

His government is still oppressing his people, and the money he's getting from those oil deals isn't distributed to the citizens of the country but to people in his government and to himself.

Don't tell me you guys care about freedom in the rest of the world, it's just a question of global interests.

Asides from that, I have a few questions for you Hydra (and anyone else who would like to answer them).
Since your country import most of its oil from Canada, in your opinion, what impact would the nationalization of fossil combustibles (and I'm talking about a radical nationalization, meaning we'd stop to export them to the United States, Japan, Korea ... And the list goes on) and the leveling of the price of
oil (let's say $20CDN/Barrel) would have with the relations between our countries?

Do you believe it would create some sort of exile among the Americans (companies/industries + population)(non-patriotic) who live in the northern states (could be anywhere too).

Do you think that people from Europe would immigrate here just to pay less to live?

Finally, do you think that this politic of isolation would be successful?
