I guess with Fedora 9 you mean Red Hat 9. Fedora is based on Red Hat but the latest release is Fedora Core 3. My own pc runs fedora core 3.

Dual bootable shouldn't be a problem altough you might need to know how to partition you disk proberly.

Fedora Core 3 comes with a client to connect to a remote deskop, but I'm not sure if there is a server application. I seriously doubt there is any reason that you should have the same distro to connect to the other pc. It could be that the complete OS' doesn't matter but I have no experience with setting up a Remote Desktop.

What I could recommend when using you pc to connect to a diffrent linux machine is learn to use the simple text terminal commands. If you want to command a remote linux server a text terminal should be all you need. You can use ssh to connect to a text terminal on the server. Of course if you do this it is necissary to know a bit of how the linux commands work.

About drivers I have no idea. I run my box on a p3 450 with a voodoo5500 PCI and a studioworks 775n monitor and some other stuff. But the monitor is the only thing I haven't been able to set up right.

Maximum uptime should be unlimited, altough my old HD was a bit cranky after a month uptime. He started to bite people so we had to put him to sleep Crying or Very Sad . You don't want to know how hard it is in these times to find a new 30 GB HD. My motherboard won't take HD above 32.

Size doesn't matter.
