It was a private party. What he does in private is none of our concern, and furthermore saying he can't dress up as whoever he wants is just as "closed minded" (Goddess I hate that phrase, it's so overused by ignorant people) as you accuse the person dressing up as being.
Now if he's actually doing things that are sympathetic with the National Socialist movement back in the 1930s, I could definitely understand the outrage.
