Equality and liberty in what sense? If you mean equality as in "equal protection under the law," you can have equality in conjunction with liberty. However, if you mean "equality" as in "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need," liberty and equality could not coexist simultaneously, in which case I would choose liberty.

"Equality" is such an ambiguous term.
