I don't really know why you would bother, i mean its a good idea, but there is a Black Hawk Down game out already. And its actually pretty good. I think its called Delta Force: Black Hawk Down.

But if you really want to do the mod, you could get some ideas from that game. BTW there is a demo out. [Wink]
