I didn't understand that last statement, So I'll go in detail... Chnage the IP address of the NIC that goes to the hub/switch. Do this from Win98/ME by going to Network in Control Panel and going properties for TCP/IP for the network card. Change the IP from within there, or in 2k/xp, select your LAN connection from Network Connections, right click, go properties, go TCP/IP and go properties. Change the IP from within that window, have the subnet mask as 255.555.0.0Bottom line is You can change the IP address of your LAN connection, but you will want to look to avoid to change your IP adress to your net connection.
