TO NEWBIES!! HOW TO LAY MINES!! [message #-977313] Mon, 25 March 2002 00:12 Go to previous message

Hi guys and newbies,

Well, i was a newbie once and made the farking stupid error of laying mines everywhere.

PLS DON DO THIS!! YOU PUT THE WHOLE TEAM IN JEOPARDY!!

How to lay mines:

Part 1 (The No of Mines)

1st i like to tell my team that i am laying mines so the old hands would try not to lay mines too as we might get excited and overstretched the 30 mines limit.

Well, my practise is to lay max 3 mines at each entrance of the building except the Gun towers / oblisek where i lay about 5. You might like to lay one more for the Hand of Nod if your are NOD as infantry is more impt for NOD and vice versa for GDI Warfactory.

I would also lay up to 5 mines at the our entrance of the tunnels / passageways etc.

Part 2 (Placement of Mines)

I like to protect the tunnels 1st as the infantry like to sneak there, and 2nd place is the defence towers if any then the buildings.

Please never never ever place mines too near to the doors as a passing by enemy vehicle can ignite the mines!! Place them a little further in to prevent such mishaps..

Also please take note to not lay mines too closely together as a suicider can just ignite all the miens and let his teammate pass through.

Try to spread them out but not too spread out if u know wat i mean?

Also do not lay mines in tunnels whereby they cannot really be seen. I mean lay mines at your entrance where you can see enemy hotwires / technicians / engineers trying to defuse the mines. Doing so also save your time in replenishing your mines.

Part 3 (Mines Special)

You can lay mines on the wall!! Works great in tunnel when you got excess mines at the expense of neglecting some buildings.
IT can bring you some sneaky kills..heh heh
Well to do this i suggest the mines to be clustered together and 4 mines together will kill a enemy.

Part 4 (DON EVER DO THIS)

Laying mines everywhere in lame usespots like the roads to your base. Do you ****ing think you have enough mines to prevent a sneak attack and a tank rush? Trust me, mines are not so effective against big tanks and it is much better to save them for sneak attacks aka defence of buildings only!

Another thing to note is never use the farking and selfish tactic of laying mines in front of your vehicle bumper, doing so jeopardize your base defences.

Also remember your 30 mines limit (made up of proximity mines and remote mines) and replenish your mines whenever possible.

Part 5 (Final Notes)

Well, to me a miner is a self sacrificing teammember where he silenly protects the base by mining and repairing. He will not score many points and will never top the table if you remain just a miner.

You can try to attack when you are confident of your base defences, or your team is preparing for a final push to destroy the enemy then you might want to buy a tank and join in the fun.

Please do not hoard your excess cash be generous and buy tanks for your team and inform your teammates.

Sorry for such a long post, but i really hope newbies would learn faster and not make the same ****ing mistake that i did.

Regards.
