And from that day forward he vowed a solemn oath to the terrible and feared Gamer Gods, that he would never use a cheat again (unless he beat the game and wanted to screw around with it) and would build up his skillz to such a height, that it would dwarf any "cheat" code in the land. And he did.

Morale of the story: YOU PAID $50 FOR THIS GAME, WHY RUIN IT BY CHEATING!!!!

So you remember Contra, I loved that game but i played it enough to figure out how to beat it without the cheat. Funny that I still remember that code though. i tried it a few times but never bothered to finish the game with it. I used the old memorize and master method to win the game. I let my buddy use the code but he could never remember it so I memorized it by repeating it to him over and over again every time we played.
