Most likely because:

1) it IS powerful, and

2) it's based off the M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank, which even if you don't know it, gives it an edge in your mind just because you simply are aware of what it looks like. Light tanks are nice, but Meds you've seen in news footage, on the net, etc. Brand recognition, only with military hardware.
