Shooting the MCT with a tank does not garnish any extra damage... you only seem to get more damage because you are probably killing or giving splash damage to the engineer/tech/or hotwire*(s) inside repairing the MCT... when they back away or get refills they will obviously stop repairing and make it seem like you're doing more damage....
