Invalid memory access. Argh.
I'm having the very same problem with some programs, most notably HTML. I've posted about this on techsupportforums.com but so far without an answer. I guess you're running windows ME?
I have a few solutions. Download renguard again from the site, which will be the latest version. Uninstall your current renguard then install the executable that you downloaded. That "should" fix the problem.
Alternatively, I have an idea, which probably won't work but it's worth a try. Go to the run box and type in regedit. This is your registry editor. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - RenGuard and find "patchversion" on the right. Now, what version are you using right now? Open renguard and see what it says on the top menu bar. If it's 1.03, right click patchversion and click modify. Enter 1.03 and choose ok. Try to patch again. If it still doesn't work, try entering 6.03 (this is the version of patchw32.dll) then try patching again. Either way could work.
