I have a virus on my desktop computer that affects the startpage and I have removed it over and over again. Yet it still comes back and the computer is not even running on the internet anymore.

No actually it came from codfiles.com and it goes to a search page for the start page and that pops up an online gambling page.

sounds like a browser hijacker...try using CWShredder to get rid of it

be sure to update it before scanning and if it automatically closes run it again and it will change the name in the titlebar to something random because some hijackers auto close popular tools to remove them.

Sad i got a bug on both my computers today, one my sis got on there and i have to FDISK tommrow, then on this one i can't seach my Address Bar, it just brings an "Page Cannot be Displayed" Sad anyone know how i can fix that?? I've already seached google for abotu 3 hours.

ive got my first browser hijacker that i cant get rid of Evil or Very Mad

it only effects IE i just ru opera on the PC with the problem so meh Razz

get a program called hijack this

it will scan your registry. A bunch of things will pop up. You will be able to tell what the thing is by reading what comes up.

you can use hijackThis to find the problem but you need CWShredder to remove it. just click fix and it scans finds and removes/repairs

I had a homepage i couldnt get away for some effing time not to mention phoneweb jacked my toolbar .....

Do you know what i did?

Open CWshredder and delete Everything that starts with 01 ,02 ect... If your IE fucked up reinstall it.(not like all will be lost if you do this) Thats how I get ride of those seeminglly impossible hi-jacks Smile Kinda a risk though lol. Wink If you dont want to do it my way go here http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ and ask the pro's. Smile It also helps to not vist sites you dont trust ex: Porn and warez sites. Razz Also get firefox , IE sucks, http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/.

Scroll to the very bottom of that page and click contact us and repirt the URL you stated int he form and then read below it and it will tell you why it is your start page and tell you how to remove it

It is the same kind of virus i got from trying to play YR with out the disk. Look at my yuri's revenge no-cd topic and ull see what happened. I took it off by using nortin anti virus. Get it.
