it would do the exact opposite,it would help your eyes.
I set mine one setting below the max load my monitor can take.

TheKGBspy | in full screen mode, ren will goes at max fps setted for the monitor.(well i think) my monitor is set to 60. i never got over 62 with that in full screen. in windowed mode i did 300 fps in a game and 508 fps in the menu ![Razz](images/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif)
p4 2.6 with Hyper treading technology, 512 mb ram ddr 333mhz, mother board has 333mhz too. my video card is a geForce Fx 5600 ultra with 128 mb ddr ram. support 400 mhz.

Go to your nvidia settings and uncheck V-sync and your refresh rate wont be locked to your monitor settings in fullscreen mode.
