Blazer, tell us how we can possibly get it, so we all know what to stay away from...

Hmm looks nasty. If anyone else has teh virus, reply in this topic. I doubt it's from a Renegade-releated program though.

There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.

Considering this virus uses startup.. do this:

Start -> Run -> msconfig

Then click the Startup tab. This shows EVERYTHING that is loaded on startup.

Hope this helps some problems.

Also a good idea to run a system scan in SAFE MODE.

Start -> Search

Enter the file into there, and it'll search your entire PC.

I had it, but got rid of it. Running an anti-virus program, deleting the files in question, and altering the registry does the trick.

sad part is, it really takes all three of those things, or a format to kill it.

I'd much rather mess around in the registry for five minutes, delete the files, run Norton, and change the Hosts file back to normal than delete everything on my hard drive, thanks.

i wasnt saying that formatting was a better option. jsut saying it works. i chose to format because windows needed it anyways.
