Alright, I have serious problem with ScanDisk. I've closed all other applictions except explorer and systray, but it still keeps resetting all teh time when Im using the "complete scan"-option. Looks like something is writing something to somewhere every 10 seconds or so, but I don't know what it could possibly be. I have Windows ME.
Can anyone help with this? I've scanned the PC for viruses and stuff like that with a big keg 'o programs, nothing found. It shouldn't be a network issue either...

Scan Disk in Safe Mode, that might work better for you, if that does not work. Scan disk during the start up, but I forgot how to do that.

MS-Dos mode is the best. if you have an OS without make a Boot disk,
If you use Win98 or something with MS-Dos mode exit Windows and select "restaerts in Dos Mode"
then type in:
scandisk c: /surface /autofix /nosummary
you can also use /all if I remind right to test all you HD's
This apramert tell Scandisk: Autofix erros, make no summary test the surface (intensive mode)
-> every one who wanna learn something about MS-Dos can ask me, I ahve worked with MS-Dos long tima at my 286 until I get an PII300
and btw: Defrag normaly should not work under Winsystems (exerpt Win 3.1/Win95 old versions) or if you copy it from an old MS-Dos instalation.
