But if your asking for how to make a show using the gaming engine like the people who made "Red vs. Blue", then your going to need a lot of money and some form of edjucation, either reading it up your self in books, or applying at the right college. Then you will need the support of some kind of staff with the supporting skills as nessisary.
Other wise, I would get a video card with some sort of TV out, either a yellow RCA jack, S-Video Cable, or a VHF Coaxle out cable, and hook it up to your VCR or DVD-R that is on your TV, and press Record.

You really don't need that much of an education to do something like red vs blue, for my grade 10 comm tech class we did something of a similar level just using a basic video editing program.

You have to know how to use the tools, which will take time to learn, in which case, you edjucate your self, and you will need the equipment to do it. Granted most computers now days can do what you want, but at what quality level are you planing to do that at? You maybe able to do something similer to Red vs. Blue, but even then, they had an inspired group of individuals who had the equipment and knolgede to pull it off, as well as the time and money to do it, and in more likely then not, they have had invested some money in schooling of some sort, wether it is at a school or college, or just buying a cuple computer books at Hastings or Barns and Noble to self teach it.
So don't give me any BS about you don't need an edjucation, because it is not limited to only a class room meaning you can self teach your self.

Dude, perhaps you should educate yourself on how to spell "educate" and "knowledge" before you go rambling on about how video editing requires an education.

Being knowledgeable of video editing techniques is very helpful for making impressive videos. You can't just go out and make something and have it turn out good. It might, but probably not. Trust me, me and my friends have tried with making a half-hour long movie.
EDIT: Heh heh...just realized I'm a commander.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

Well then it should be easy for the most part. Just give your friends a script to work with and run around a little bit doing what the script says, and recorded it on your VCR. Thats the most simple way.
If you get any more advanst then your going to need some sort of video editting software like Coral Draw, or Phote shop, or something small at the very least where you can make a few quick touch ups, Copy cut and paste, clips and add voice overs to it. Adding the voices in shouldn't be too hard.
Now as far as the head bobbing goes or mouth movement, it will get into a diffrent story as you will have to start messing with GMax and other stuff and get real painfully maticuls if you make their mouths move. I would stick with just head bobbing to keep it simple.
