I banned YuTuS:80.218.122.227 today from the FanMaps servers.

Someone used an Exploit in WOL/Renegade to join as a moderator. He then banned everyone from the bajaclan server with bajadera's nick.

I will not explain how this works to anyone!
Its also possible to use this exploit to join as "EA Network Administrator" etc for example, which some of you may have seen before.

When i talked to bajadera about this he gave me the IP that was used to do this. I did a small search on Black-Cell but that didnt turn up anything.
But once i started looking in my own server logs and the ones from FanMaps(0/1) i found that the person who has this IP is YuTuS, a member of the !MoS! clan. I have put an IP ban on his nickname.

I also explained to bajadera and synpro that they need to password protect their server mod nicks in the same way as i am doing myself at the moment.

I'm in the understanding that BlazeRegulator squashes this WOL bug flat. It'll kick anyone who has more than a 9 character name. This was implemented well over 8 months ago.

there will be an option on NightRegulator to auto-ban malicous nicks

Some of these nicks include
Host
GDI
NOD
Nightma12 (unless the IP matches mine, lol)
fred4ok
fred4uk
"bye" nicks

and some others, it also detects when somebody is doing this exploit Smile

(only works in WOL mode)

You need to get rid of the log from the FDS. You do realize that it gives every ip of the players that were on your server, right?

This guy also knows about a bug in the FDS to crash a server.
Like some players used to do on GSA.
We have added his IP to the banlist(s) of course.
Even we needed to change the server ports to stop him from crashing the server.
I encourage every server owner to ban this fuckface from the whole RenGuard/Renegade community.
This is a one millenia only fatass n00b.
