Why would your operating system have anything to do with in-game bugs? Such as the one he's talking about where you enter a vehicle and you go into blue hell, hitting E to "exit" your vehicle again and get into this glitched, warped state that can only be solved by killing yourself -- even then, you get these glitched stretches across the screen which can be fixed by leaving and re-entering the game.
The other cases of blue hell are bad spawn points in Under and Field, or occasionally when your vehicle ends up floating away, far off the map (This happened to a harvester on field once, pretty funny).
It's a bug that happens to everyone, it probably just hasn't happened to you yet on your win98 system. And in case you're right, why would it happen with XP and not 98?
