Yea there was an epedemic of that a while ago.
The new Renegade CD doesn't look like that anymore, so maybe it was just the older CD's?

EA is not likely to do much aobut it because Westwood doesn't exist and Westwood would be the one's who are legally responcible for damages of that nature. If they don't exist Because EA bought them, determend that they don't make money for EA, and then disband them, then in all crappy likely hood, EA won't care, because they can't be held reasponsable, and the compainy that could is barried with a tomb stone that says, "Murderd By EA 2002 AD for not making EA enough money."
Sad story, but true unfortunatly, so that really makes the CD Bomb thinky all the more crappy.
Be glad you can't open your DVD drive though, because if you could open it and use it, and then did use it, say good buy to $50 or more, you would have to buy a new DVD drive. This way, with the door stuck, you can get it to a shop and ger it repaired.

cowmisfit | In the us, The data disk is orange and the game disk is green, but its like a lime green, not the dark green ya'll have.
|
What's the use of two "different" version of those disks, btw? Why didn't they make all discs the same colors across the world?

I've had that to, Not with my renegade disc though. it happend with my copied version of red alert 2. I played it a while, and then I heard a strange sound comming out of my computer, and red alert 2 crashed to desktop. I kicked against my computer cause of the damn strange sound, then my whole computer crashed and I got a black screen. then I Un-plugged the power cable. A while after that I've put my computer on again, and I opend my cd played, and my red alert 2 cd was Nearly into two pieces

My red CD has a crack about an inch into it, still works though.
In the end it doesn't matter if you are who you say you are. You will still mean nothing to me.
When i have kids, everytime i drive past a fast food restaurant, im gonna punch my kid in the face, then they'll never wanna come..

Do you notice a CD is less likely to crack if you have a personal case with plastic slots to fit it into?
Often, the original game CD case enclosure is such that it would end up cracking and breaking the CD after repeatedly putting the CD in and taking out. Renegade CDs also seem more prone to crack than others, even though this doesn't make sense. I've had to re-buy the game because both CDs cracked.
Also, to whoever has a small crack in their CD: Expect it to get bigger in the near future, and end up risking game crashes and soon after not working at all.
