Please make sure you have the following maps in your renegade\data dir, we have added them to the FanMaps server map rotation:

I'm hoping we will get a map auto download feature in Renguard soon. That should bring some more life back to fan map servers.

I hope you realize nobody will play if you have the server set to pure mode. Anyone who is smart enough to download rengaurd has probably downloaded skins too.

Ive been 'promoting' all these maps that are on my site for over a half year now :S
At the moment i dont have any skins Wink i took these screenies a long time ago - before RenGuard was released.

Its not that i dont like skins, its i dont like advantage skins such as neon-blue snipers and the (in my view a cheat) Clear Scope skin.

But if i have to choose between:

1) People having advantage skins like the sniper-clear-scope-cheat-skin,
neonblue sniperskins, neonblue stealth skins so that you see them earlier,
and skins like this.

2) Put RenGuard on in Pure mode disallowing any
skins and being sure that absolutely nobody has an unfair
advantage over the oters because they are maybe using the
skins i mentioned above.

Then i choose for option 2. I know most of you guys wont
use such skins but alot of others will and that is why i put
the server in Pure Mode. So that everyone who is joining
KNOWS for sure that everyone is using the same game-style
as they are and that it is practically impossible to have somesort
of (small/slight) advantage over them while playing.

I find it easier to use the regular snipe skin, if I used any other skin for the sniper scope I'd make it darker to make it more of a challenge, Clear Scope, aka crystal snipe, is considered a cheat by many, mostly cuz the people who use it don't wanna LEARN how to play, they'll just use any tactic they can to be the best, even if that means cheating.
I only find it easier to use the default cuz I'm used to it, it's all I've ever used since I got the game more than a year ago, even so, I took the time to LEARN how to play, unlike some people :twisted:

On bigger servers snow is really funny, shutgun pwnage in the middle Very Happy
