Some of the Star Trek episodes are so bad they make me embarrased just to live in the same country as the episodes being produced.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

Dune>Odyssey(2001, 2010)>B5>Farscape>Trek>SW.
Nothing beats Dune(I think the Sci-Fi miniseries is better than the movie, though). But the movies based on Clarke's Odyssey books pull a close second. Both share a common need for someone to make movies/miniseries out of the other half of the series.
B5 is good for its rather impressive combination of plot, action, special effects, and pseudo-realistic physics. It's almost beleivable, which can't be said for most science fiction.
Farscape...that's just a fun show to watch. Leans more toward the fiction end of science fiction, but the plot and characters more than make up for that. Too bad the morons at Sci-Fi had it cancelled.
Trek was good, but it started going downhill after Gene bit the dust. Original Trek, movies 1-6, and parts of TNG seemed a lot less...stiff than the rest of it. Action doesn't make for good storytelling, nor do fancy effects. The newer episodes look like simple remakes of those in the older shows.
Star Wars...well, it's dead in my book. I'll see Episode III just for closure, but I'll wait until it comes out on HBO so I don't waste my money. The first three were great, but Lucas let his success go to his head and spewed out a batch of utter crap with fancy CG stuff and stiff-as-a-board acting.
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine
Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

NO-- But ack Has the Exact idea of our Future, 20 years ago would You??? have concived that we would have progressed as far as we have??? I think not But Gene Rodenbarrie had the vision of what might come!! we as ppl where not "are" not ready for how fast we have come. the computer age I mean, our Technology is Growing faster then our Maturing is. What comes after the nano age. I say our own Distruction or the simplisity of what star trek Represents Realisim. and hope Star Trek Depicts our own Dreams, Anger, Hope, Vision, or Downfall. Thats how i see Star Trek What we are and what we as Men/Woman will Become.
ALSO it is a darn good show with outside injoyment

Infinint | They are on TV and made into movies because people liked the story line. Because people like action packed movies. Now if you’re a person like ACK, who hates it because it’s illogical then fine, but you don’t have to go around crying about it. In BOTH Star Trek and Star Wars I have found numerous errors and flaws that wouldn’t be possible, but I don’t care, I still like the shows.

Irony? Yes, I think so.
Tip for the day: Don't call people stupid if you cannot handle basic English skills, and grammar structure. It makes you look "stuped".

Everyone makes grammer errors. The thing is you can EDIT your post. He could have at least fixed his typo's. Let alone not make himself look like a dumbass.
