UGIN Servers are hosting a sniper tournament. It will be 2v2 pick your own partner. So if you would like to join please sign you and your team mate up at this link (The playerlist and teamlist is also here) or just post here and we will get back to you. So far we are going to try and make it 3 rounds depending on the number of teams we get signed up to play. So if we have 3 rounds Maps are as follows. It will be best 2/3.
Round 1 - Complex, Islands, Field
Round 2 - Islands, Canyon, City
Round 3 - Field, Complex, Canyon
Final Round the two teams will decide on maps.

Rules are no refills (unless out of ammo), no crack or glass shots. $500 and $1000 Snipers allowed. If we think of any others along the way we will let you know. If you would like you may pick a team name and if you don't we will assign you one considering just using team #1 vs. team #2 isn't to interesting. Good luck to all who sign up! Smile If you can't find a partner just sign up and we will see if we can find you a partner for the tournament.

uhm, no looping? How will you enforce this rule? Map layouts were made to have the full use of them utilised. If they were simple 'go in this way, go out that way', it would always give the team holding the field/tunnel an advantage. Is it not one who doesn't check his back the lesser skilled? Many have beaten opponents with better accuracy with flank tactics.

"No refills" also seems pretty mundane.

I'll sign up with someone if you reconsider your rules. It's not a good idea to unnecessarily restrict a players freedom, and only causes arguments.

Looping is flanking your opponent. e.g., You're playing someone on Field. He's in the tunnel waiting for you to come. You tell your buddy to fight him while you go out the main entrance and up the waterfall way. You watch him take cover from your allie to reload, and pop him in the back.

Awesome, there's someone that'll join with me but he can't sign up till tomorrow. Thanks for hosting this tourney, we'll be there.

Also, you might want a spectator in each game to moderate.

hmm stryder may have forgotten to say that the link to enter will require people to register to UGIN's forums, sorry about that but we had major problems with some idiot called kiteorca who didnt know how to register and kept spamming the forums with guest account. The result being I locked the forums to the point that most or all boards are visible, but users must be registered to read them or post.....Blame Smokie it was his idea.

As to the moderator thing, the competition will be held with the irc watching the chatter in game, any problems or suspected cheaters just give the host a shout and a mod watching (probably me coz im always there) will have a look for you.

Hope you enjoy guys and girls and happy hunting.

Hmm, that's a good question really. Screenshots wouldn't solve that problem. I guess I would have to remove that rule. What are all of your opinions, guys/girls?

We will have moderators in IRC ready to deal with any supposed cheaters.

If you want to sign up post your WOL name. Remember it's a 2v2 tournament. Try to have a partner ready to sign up for the tourny. If you don't have a partner, we will try to find another partner for you. The playerlist and teamlist is here - Yeah you have to register to forum, I know it's a pain in the but, like Kytten9 said before, we have had forum spammers in the past that used guest account so we had to limit forums to just registered users.

Also, it isn't entirely necessary for you to take screenshot of who won at end of game. The bot will take care of the wins and loses.

Stryders bot although new is very good....he's still working on it, but i guess that's a common thing. If i get given the exact dates i will make myself availible to police the channel in the IRC, if you are in the tourny and encounter problems just type either host, help or Clare (yes my name) as all of those are highlighted, i will then use our page system to communicate with you. Also remember that some players entering the tourny are mods on UGIN themselves so any problems that arrise while they are in game they can either deal with on the spot or be sneaky and use the IRC. Either way we will do our very best to ensure that the tourny is fun and entertaining for all who choose to enter.

No we dont have renguard on the server, this maybe annoying or off putting to those who have become used to or felt safer with renguard on the servers, but for the moment we have held that off due to our network growing in random ways as we are new we cant exactly predict what will be there tomorrow or not, and one of the server owners (bless him) is a bit tempremental
