Does your router have an option for DMZ host? If so, set your computers local IP as the DMZ host. Renegade uses an array of ports to connect.

Unless you have a very complex router/firewall you normally only need to set one port which is usually:
UDP: 4848
Although this can be changed using the firewall port setting in renegade.
In fact I would recommend you set the firewall port in renegade to 4848.
The other ports are usually only necessary if your firewall blocks outbound TCP connection initiations (Not common in most home routers).

The Router isn't a firewall. A Router is used when you network the internet so the master computer can share it's internet with another computer. The Router port and IP sets AGS must be set exactly the same to the master computer. (Unless I'm thinking of something, I'm not sure but I have a Router anyway :rolleyes: )

You are correct that:
- A router is not necessarly a firewall.
and
- A firewall isn't necessarly a router.
However common home use calls a "NAT Router" a "Router"
All NAT routers are both a router and a firewall, since the NAT function provides some degree of security and access control (usually only allowing connections from the inside to go out).
Note: A NAT router does not provide the same level of protection as say a commerial firewall such as Checkpoint FW1.
