Will Daemon Tools be transparent to Renguard or will I have to get off my lazy butt and insert my Renegade CD?

Renguard supports no CD cracks (I think) but if not you could just make a batch file to run renguard and daemon tools with the ren data CD auto load path and it would all work.

I read somewhere that it simply renames your game.exe to game2.exe so, that would mean that if you already have the no-cd crack it should still work.

Also, I recall them gathering some info about some of the no-cd cracks so they could alow for them to work or something, I am even less sure on that matter.

But losely stringing together the facts that I have, I would say yes. It should work.

I am going to take a stab at it, and guess that they have looked at the hex of the game.exe of the moddified game.exe's and put them in some sort of "alow" list. Hence why crimson said to send it to them if its blocked so they can add it. From that point, I am guessing the team would test it, to see if its a cheat, or simply a no-cd "patch."

Hey, arn't you on the team tho? why would you need to ask that? Confused

Daemon Tools is a drive emulator. It's not a crack or no-cd patch.

I archived the Renegade cd into .nrg (aka.iso) then load it into the drive that Daemon Tools creates. Renegade.exe and Game.exe are unmodified.

I'm guessing it should work fine since the Renegade directory and it's files are remaining untouched.

It will work fine, but if you want you can make a batch file to run daemon tools, load the ren CD image, and run renguard from one icon.

The RenGuard installer will take game.exe from your Renegade Directory and rename it to game2.exe. RenGuard will become game.exe.

So long as your game2.exe matches one of our known good game.exe copies, you will be fine. We do not disallow cracks that eliminate the need to have the game CD.
