Assuming you run windows 98.

You must startup the pc with a startup disk.
On the command line type:

fdisk [enter]

It will ask you if you want to enable support for large drives, answer this with yes.

Then, you must choose to "Create a primary partition" it will ask you if you want to use all space available and make the partition active.
In your case, since you dont know FDISK its best to answer this with yes.

Once this is completed restart your pc with the startup-disk again and on the command line type:

format c: /v:win98 [enter]

it will format the drive into FAT32. When this is complete you insert your Win98 cdrom and run x:\win98\setup.exe and from there on you can install windows 98 onto your pc Smile
