The Onion is a satire newspaper started here in Madison, WI. Quite funny.

Back in January of 2001, the Onion ran this headline. keep in mind, this was before any problems with China, Al-Quieda, Afghanistan, Iraq, North Korea, or even the economic slump.

Not just funny, so dead-on accurate, it almost seems precognative.

Not totally dead-on. They forgot that old, Bush organizing the Twin Tower thing to get a war on.

Or, maybee, just possibly, The eight years of "peace" (See Bosnia/Kosovo) allowed terrorists to get strong enough to attack us.

I am so tired of peacenicks with all the freedom we provide, criticizing the very government that provides the freedom, and safety to speak out.

Peace!? Clinton bombed Iraq, Somalia, Kosovo (sp) and Bosnia.

The economy was falling 3 months PRIOR to the 2000 elections. I know I lost a lot of money in the market during that time. So in fact the recession started under Clinton.

Do you think Al Gore could have handled 9-11? Look how he reacted during the elections. The outcome was the right choice. Legally Bush won. Our Constitution had a fail-safe system that worked in the event of a tie.

Al Gore would have cowered in the fetal position in a corner somewhere.

Giz, you voted for Jim Doyle didn't you?

For all of you from outside of Wisconsin, Jim Doyle's campaign crew was caught on camera buying votes from mentally challenged people. He also claims that nothing is wrong with the election system. He even had convicted felons cast absentee ballots for him. In Wisconsin felons do not have voting rights, unless they vote for Democrats.

Once again.....You are the only living proof of the missing link.

If people like me "got the fuck out", America would be the smoldering pacifist ruin of what was once a great nation. We are great because people like Bush stand up for whats right, including your right to make a complete ass of yourself. You need to respect the authorities even when you don't like thier choices. I doubt a whiny, self serving, manic depressive child like yourself could possibly ever grasp the concept of self sacrifice for a greater good.

Thank you for proving your ignorance. I respect the authorities...Bush is a better president than alot of people we could have...Pacifists stand up for what is right as well...I'm not killing any innocent civilians by refusing to pull a gun on another man...am I? I have never killed another man...I haven't gotten into a fight since the 6th grade...am I hurting people by that? Does it offend you when I say "I dont like killing innocent civilians and babies"? I hope it does to be honest...it would explain your idiocy

How exactly have I or any other veteran of the Gulf War, "KILLED BABIES"?

Do they teach this garbage in pacifist training? And you calling me ignorant is the equivalent of Saadaam calling Bush an "Evil MAN". Your "qualified opinion" is worthless to try to consider global politics. I seriously wonder where you get this information.

yes...that's right...everyone in high school is a moron...we all lack the intelligence to make educated decisions...I mean...what do I know about life in 3rd world countries? what do I know about death and destruction? God...I didn't think about that. I mean...I've never even left america...I've never seen half the stuff you talk about.

Oh wait...I just remember that I lived in 3rd world countries for a good portion of my life where I was judged against simply because I'm American.

If Bush is so just...why isn't he doing anything about Venezuela or North Korea. The people of Venezuela are trying to get their dictator out of their country...but is he helping a country that wants our help? NO...he is not. He is allowing that to happen. Bush's priorities are screwed up...Iraq shouldn't be everything

Hmmmmmmm, I was part of the American military machine. Never killed ONE baby. Not once. Didn't even wound one, although I did drop my cousin once when I was a kid.

There goes that argument.

And it's a fact of life that civilians will die in war. Saddam has killed over
1 MILLION CIVILIAN LIVES IN 1 WAR! So who is the baby killer. I was Army for 8 years, so calling the Army baby killers is calling me a baby killer. Choose your fights wisely as to avoid a black eye. Duke, you are going to go blind in this fight. Mad

good thing you can understand english...

we use bombs, yes? we use the weapons of mass destruction that we are fighting against, yes? Did I say that you personally shot a baby? no, I didn't. This isn't a judgement of your character...this is a judgement of what we do in a war situation.

When was the last time the US has used poison gas, biological or nuclear weapons.

The US:
Nukes? Were used to END WWII and saved more lives than the bombs took.
Poison gas? Last time poison gas was used by the US, was WWI.
Biological weapons? NEVER! We had them, but never used.

Iraq:
Nukes? Not YET.
Poison gas? 1992, agains a Kurdish uprising in Northern Iraq.
Biological weapons? 1988, against Iran and again his own people.
