Well for the past week my computer been really sluggish compared to previous times, and programs have been locking up a lot. So I was in the middle of ending a program through task manager, and decided to check the cpu usage and I saw this

I was surprised it being so high and still being able to function at all

I looked at processes and found this program

But I thought that that is the windows exe? What should I do? Put in the back-up disk and reinstall windows? If so, do I need to back-up anything, becuase if I reinstall windows XP, will it delete any valuable information or will everything be fine?

yeah, I deleted McAFee and installed Norton, I had something called (forgot exact name) W3D.supernova.worm.

followed the removal instructions, and went in safe mode
looked in the registery Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run found the registry key supernova, and everything is right as rain. Thanks

mate your best bet is to re-install windows.

lol. prop like WTF?!. but you will have so much adware stuff you can't get rid off it would be far easier.
