A sad story. There is nothing more upsetting then seeing a newborn go threw withdrawal. I hope the one that survived will have good life, even if it has started in such a fucked up way.
-Oh well, one of many. If it wasnt in the news no one would have cared anyway.

Funnily enough, someone posted this story earlier on another forum with the same reaction as you had. Choosing not to have the operation to avoid a scar seemed stupid but it was her choice after all. Maybe if she had said she was terrified of being cut open that would have given her more of a case. I suppose it's a matter of how much you want the kid but I shudder to think of myself being cut open like that. Apart from the horror, chicks dig harry potter scars, not big slices down your chest.

it's ok to not want to have a scar, but, that also cost her child its life. that's not the worst part...she tried SELLING her still born baby.

stupid people make stupid decisions and once they make one that dumb...they should be considered an enemy of the state and executed.

Child endangerment because she wouldn't allow them to perform a C-section?

But it's okay to kill unborn children through partial birth abortion and other forms of death for them?

i agree with that. i consider it on the same plane as abortion. i think that abortion should be illegal and anyone who participates in it should be thrown into a syntetic womb and aborted themselves. Sow-Reap.

I'm curious... Since I get free healthcare with this handy health card, what are the American laws on childbirth? I'm sure those C-sections aren't free. If they're going to make it against the law to refuse medical 'recommendations", then those medical treatments should be free. If not, then she doesn't HAVE to concede to their advice.

It's pretty simple, if you don't want to pay your electrical bills, you don't get electrosity. You don't want to pay for your doctor's bill, you don't get your treatment. Of course, it doesn't say that she didn't want to pay the bill, but I think it's a touchy subject if you're going to charge one woman for having a childbirth-related death and not charge that woman who preformed an abortion on herself.

And what is this? "Life endangerment" on the other child? Hell, if thats the case, they should be charging whenever a pregnant woman has a drink or smokes a cigarette.

/me slaps the American legal system

If you are responsible for the death of another human, you deserve punishment regardless of legal system.

This nitwit refused a medical procedure that could have saved a life she was responsible for because she didn't want a scar. Then she tried to sell a dead child for bail money, and is also responsible for loading her unborn children with drugs. Then we get into the past child endangerment of punching one of her other children in the face for stealing a candy bar.

She is the exception, not the rule, and that's why they are loading for bear on this one. She is a danger to the children she has, and potentially could have. Lock her away.

she's a fucking endangerment to herself and anyone who even has to look at that nasty mug. she needs to be scurged...then she'll get the scar that she didn't want, make her see that it was better to get a scar on her stomach and save her child than to have scars all over her fucking body. plus, i think it'd be rewarding to see that bitch in so much pain.

whoa.

She doesn't really look mentally stable to me, perhaps that's why she refused?

Then again, the US legal system has a record of executing mentally ill, so I'm not surprised if she gets sentenced to death.
