It just randomly shuts down in multi and single player. Any suggestions. No other games do it.

Check your temps. use Speed Fan to see your temps. if it is running above 50c and u have a p4 U NEED better cooling

I am having exactly the same problem.
Oldtnt, I am running an amd athlon 1.8 ghz. On that speedfan there are 3 temps detected. The first one is fine but the other 2 are quite high. The third has a burning symbol beside it. I have one fan. Is this bad? Or is it only temp 1 that matters??

The first one is the temp on the CPU core. the second one is the temp under the CPU. the HD0 is the HArd drive temp. The last one is your case temp. You are running too hot for idle. Try playing ren for 20 min and then check your temps. :shocked: I would consider getting a new cooler. the are not expensive. this one will do u fine:

also if u have a camera can u post picks of the cooler u have now.
Please post your mobo model number so i can see if it will fit.
