What's your favorite FPS game? I'm just curious. If you are going to say Counter-Strike, don't bother posting as it's already to be said a lot.
My favorite FPS game is eihter Renegade or Tribes 2.

For multiplayer I'd say Renegade, and for single player Half-Life.
But Perfect Dark is probably the best overall considering what it achieved on an underpowered system (considering how ambitious it was) with a bad controller (for FPS games) and no online. That may be the best game of all time.

Holy crap, I forgot about Perfect Dark. I just recently bought a Nintendo 64 and Expansion Pak to play that game. It was only 4 bucks used. The best multiplayer experience on the same TV, hands down.
If they did port this to PC, it would indeed be an awesome game. Maybe we have better hopes with something say, TimeSplitters 2?

It would have been perfect if the support wouldn't have been dropped and it would have been really good had they had the original modes it was supposed to have.

Only game to this date that has actually made me jump multiple times when playing it.
Doom3 I can't wait for. I will upgrade my system for it.

Wolfenstein 3D was good, considering doom was about the only other FPS around at that time, they used a graphics method called raycaster to draw there graphics from your point of view.

I think I good game that's coming up is Doom III. Everybody is hyping HL2, but after playing a second beta of Doom III, I know it's going to be fucking awesome.

I liked the game play in 2003 better than 2004. It just seemed smoother. Even though the new Onslaught mode it pretty cool.

Umm, yea, come to think of it, I guess I really don't have a "favorite." love UT2004, but I wish it had more of a "smoother" play as you put it, not enough stealth.
God is the "0wnage". Plain and Simple.

I just got Call of Duty on Saturday, and I think it is a VERY fun game to play. Especially the dramatic escapes in the trucks and cars because of the fact that characters in the game can hand you weapons, fire accurately, fire at you realistically. And you can lean out of the window of cars etc.
UT2004 I thought it was really fun...But obviously I have not played the full yet. The demo has only like 5 maps...the full version should have over 100! It might take first place over CoD, but not just yet.
Renegade. Played it so much that Its not as fun anymore. Was good while it lasted though.

My favorite FPS's are:
Command & Conquer Renegade (Best. FPS. Ever.)
Good Maps/Mods for C&C Renegade (e.g. RenAlert)
DOOM (classic FPS and the game that started it all)
DOOM2 (great follow-on to a great game)
Good Maps/Mods for DOOM/DOOM2 (my favorite is probobly Ghostbusters Doom, mabie someone should do a Ghostbusters mod for Renegade
TRON 2.0 (Great movie and a fun game, it really brings in all the elements from the past 20 years of computer development
