Gathered from this thread and my own experience:
The egg first, then the block (or the block first, then the egg), then the orange and the ladder 3rd or 4th, pipe 5th, mountain 6th, the wheel-thingie that turns into a booster rocket second-last (it only needs one powerup AFAIK) and the screen last...I'll try that.

All maxed except the pipe. I think I'll switch the pipe and the orange.

Sounds good so far, but you need the ladder sooner, so try putting the ladder right after the blocks, then the sun, etc.
Remember there are multiple solutions. I will post mine shortly.

OK, time to post my solution.
Block, Egg, Sun, Ladder, Pipe, Mountain, Gear, Propellor, Tornado, Dish, Engine, and TV.
