Today I came home from work and turned on my computer and it made this really loud humming noise on startup. I got worried that maybe it just needed to be turned off again, turned it off then turned it back on and the noise was still there. Its never really done this before, it did it once or twice but then stopped like 5 minutes after running. This time its not stopping, its kind of like a light humming noise (not to loud not to soft) and it kind of goes in a pattern like (whea whea whea if you listen close enough).....or you could kind of say it sounds like one of this mini fans that rotate running. Is this a problem, I mean my computer is about 3 months old, and it seems to be running just dandy! Hmm, anywho thanks

I get these kind of sounds every once in a while. Usually, it's a powersupply wire a bit to close to one of my fans or something not placed right. If you know what you're doing, open the case up and look around for the problem. That might help.

Normally it is the northbridge fan (small fan on motherboard), in my case it was. As it gets used, it starts to vibrate more, the vibration of the fan is hitting the center of the heatsink causing it to make a humming noise. After you have run it for a while it will stop until you boot next.
You just need to replace it with a new 40mm fan, which are cheap. It may not be your northbridge fan, any other 40mm fan on a graphics card may cause it, but genrally it is a small fan vibrating against a heatsink.

I doubt it is anything serious. If it starts up again, don't get startled or anything.

Just to be on the safe side, you may want to check all your fans in the computer. Mainly the power supply fan (this can easily be checked without opening the case). My computer started making a strange sound and not long after I started having hard drive trouble. Turns out the fan in my power supply up and died and once replaced (acually, once the power supply was replaced, since it burned out), no more hard drive problems!

Yeah, I burned 2 fans in the PSU, it actually took out a capacitor the second time, I replaced it with one off some old PSU I had and it seems to work fine now. I'm running a YSTech silent fan in it connected through a hole to the motherboard connector so if it dies this time my system will beep and shoutdown.
Since I replaced the fan I can't hear it anymore and it made my PC much quieter.
