YOU cannot say that you wouldn't have made the decision he did, because you didn't have too.

Wrong. I can. If the country was in danger of being invaded, I WOULD GO. It isn't.

Correction, our country has already been invaded and the attacks have been going on for years. Except of course there is no military uniform etc. This war is about disarming Saddam which in turn would disarm the kind of people who are invading the USA for the purpose of desctruction. To put it another way, their 'troops' are here, we hope they dont have anything 'nasty' already & disarming Saddam is one way to keep them from getting 'the nasty'.
