Non-Dedicated Hosting Problem [message #63868]

I seem to have a problem when I throw up a small server (Non-Dedicated Server) when im logged into WOL . Heres my problem; every time the map finishes, my whole computer just locks up, then unlocks for about 3 seconds and locks back up for another 10 seconds. Because of this I have to restart my computer every time I try to host a game. This same thing happens when I host a game and the map ends, or when I hit "quit", my comp locks up. I reformated my HD, put a fresh new installation of Renegade and I still have the problem!!!! Anyone know how to fix this? (Please, no answers like this "Don't host a game then"...)

I have (sortoff) the same problem. Everytime i host/join a server and leave/quit the server (non-dedicated) my renegade freezes and i must ctrl-alt-del force to close it.
Then when i get back on, WOL says my nickname is already in use :S and makes me wait 2 min+ until my ghost gets killed finally. Its probably a WOL bug, my brother has the same shit and he's on a seperate internet connection (we both have our own).

Your problem MAYBE a port problem. Programs usually freeze when a port they require is still in use or just not available at some point.
It maybe related to your firewall? Since your hosting that server non-dedicated, allow Port 25301 in ure firewall and put this port in renegade Network options Send Delay = 25301
I used to have a lot of Firewall port negotiations Failed but since i put that port as Send Delay, i can join most servers now. Just try it maybe it works. I wudnt know else. sorry Sad

Hmmm, it sounds like it might be a problem with WOL. If you're able to, try a fresh install. Also, have you tried different maps while hosting? It might also be something related to the map/mod you're using.

Even after I reformated my HD, it still wont let me host a non-dedicated server! After the game is up, everything starts to freeze. Something to do with the WOL ladder that makes my Renegade freeze up when im trying to host.

My hosting problem is fixed now since im using a new driver version for my network card. It used to crash a hell lot be4 when hosting, just after the map ends it used to crash.Ill assume its your networkcard's drivers then.
