Many of you will probably know of this, but if you don't or havn't done it yet, do it now!

http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~atman/spam/adblock.shtml

Do what it says untill the end of that long list of ad servers. And then add these ones:
127.0.0.1 download.abetterinternet.com
127.0.0.1 dst.trafficsyndicate.com
127.0.0.1 view.atdmt.com
127.0.0.1 adfarm.mediaplex.com
127.0.0.1 xlime.offeroptimizer.com
127.0.0.1 xadso.offeroptimizer.com
127.0.0.1 cdn2.adsdk.com

And many places you go on the internet, you will not see ads.

127.0.0.1 is simply referring to your computer (redirects you to your own computer) So if you are hosting a website, in some ad spaces you will see your site.

To add your own, type 127.0.0.1 then 7 spaces, then the ad server.]

Popups just become less annoying and flashing banners won't make you blind Smile

Also be sure to read the section: "Enhanced Privacy"

I have used the Hosts file for a long time, but never saw such a complete list.

I already had quite a list in my HOSTS file; apparently KaZaA Lite added them Razz

I added this list too, though. There might me some doubles in the list now but I don't feel like going through the whole list Wink

Thanks!

P.S. XP users; follow the Windows NT instructions about where to find the HOSTS file.

XP users; follow the Windows NT instructions about where to find the HOSTS file.

Click start > Run

Type
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Then select the program to view it in... i.e notepad or another text editor from the list.

Yeah I did this before, only thing was something added google to it, I took me around a week to figure out why my computer was the only one on the network which couldn't access google.

I does come in handy though if you get a good selection of sites. May want to add lop.com to it too as that thing is like a virus once it is installed.

Great, this is excellent... stops all those annoying adds I keep getting on various websites.

If it does not block the ad I just add the adserver Razz

Thanks a bunch
