I assume that you are just double clicking on the RenRem Icon :sigh:
You need to open a command prompt before typying in the command.
On windows 2000
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
Then change directory to the correct folder.
Then type in the command: Renrem
It will say something like this:

Renegade Remote Server Management Tool
Version 1.11 - ST 7/25/2002 3:20PM
Usage: RenRem.exe <options> ip port password [local_port]
Options: -r=Request - Send the specified request to the server then quit
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hence in order to start it up properly you will need to type something like:
renrem 127.0.0.1 1234 yourpassword
When renrem starts you will have to enter your password again.
