If i buy a new PC, can i (legally) use my exhisting copy of Windows? I looked at the EULA and it says that you can transfer a license, but you need to completely remove Windows from your old computer. How would they know if I have done that? Has anyone else ever used their old windows software on a new PC?

id reccomend getting a copy of Windows XP corporate, no activation bullshit, if you have an ilegitimate serial, you can get programs from various places *cough* imesh *cough* that will allow you to change it to a legitimate key and thus giving you the ability to do windows updates with no problems.
Most oem computers have a tailored windows install disc that will not work on a computer unless it is one of thiers, so better get downloading
