-go to your Renegade Data folder
-make a folder called "Movies"
-open Notepad
-DO NOT TYPE IN ANYTHING!!!
-File->Save As
-go to the folder you just created
-save the file as "EA_WW.BIK" - this is the name of the Westwood logo movie
-save the (BLANK!) file once more as "R_Intro.BIK" - this is the name of the Renegade intro movie
-you will no longer see the intro movie when starting Renegade, or be prompted for the Data CD (when starting Renegade
-to no longer be prompted for the Data CD before/after missions, copy the .BIK files off the Data CD (exept: "EA_WW.BIK" and "R_Intro.BIK") to the Movies folder.

You can do the intro thing by editing your registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > software > westwood > renegade > options and change the value of SkipAllIntroMovies to 1.

cool...
both work, but most ppl dont know how to find/use Regedit.....
lol
but this also tells how to do in-game movies..
NOTE: u can skip in-game movies the same way u do the intros, adding blank .BIK files to the "Movies" folder (have no clue y u would....)

Yeah I used the regedit method. Also I disabled all the others like confirming when you exit, these are all handy for modders testing out things as you need a fast loading version.

so you are telling me that i can make a new in-game movie by opening Notepad, then saving its empty file as a .bik!!!!11!!11
OMG WTF LOL!!11!1!11!!!
thats not even close to what you need to do, but whatever.
.BIK is a compressed Bink and Smacker avi file that is common for EA games to use for there intro movies and in game movies.

Yeah you can download the Rad Game Tools from http://www.radgametools.com/ and you can convert your videos to bink or smacker format. Smaker is an older format and bink tends to be used more now.
It's used in Planetside on the TV screens in some bases and shows a spinning empire logo. There stored as a bink video in the game directory, so i guess it is used like a texture.

unless u know how to, you cant make a movie in note pad.....
notepad just saves the blank text document with the extention .bik
an alternate would be to make a .txt file (blank) and then change the extention to .bik
what is the conformation option under in regedit? i may be able to find it on my own if i looked REALLY REALLY hard....lol

oh, yea, btw.....
the "faked bik files" dont contain ne data, causing ren to see it, play nothing (the file doesnt tell it to play nething) then continue, thats all that happens.

Shouldn't there be a command line to add in to the target on the exe? In generals it's something like -no logo (not sure, havent played in awhile).

Halo uses "-novideo." Maybe it's the same for Renegade.
