Hi, after reading the diagram drawn by Blazer, I was wondering, what if a master server for renguard fails? Will the job be put onto the other two, or will we just be unable to use reguard?

Well, all you really need to do to get the IP of the master server(s) Is just run netstat while the FDS & SSC communicate with the Master Server. Log the IP, DoS, No real damage done, i've said too much havn't I?

Not if Renguard uses UDP
The netstat wouldn't show where the UDP connections are going.

You would need to look at your firewall logs or net tap if you have one.

There are multiple master servers, as well as a pool of spares. Renguard gets a list of random master servers when it starts up, so if you plan on DOSing them offline, its going to take you awhile just to find them all, and they aren't hosted on 56k connections either Razz

Neither you nor I knows who uses the Cisco box outside ourselves. You do remember that Cisco makes routers... most of the internet is on Cisco hardware. You nor anyone else has any idea the knowledge and power some of these employees have, legal or not, and I for one would NEVER fuck with that box.
