Most known form of point whoring exists on hourglass when you get on the hill and shoot to refinery. then you can't do it, unless it's an organized attack (5 arties shooting from the hill to DESTROY ref).

NO! PPL! Plz understand me. I used the situation, that after half of battle time passed there were no arties on the hill and I got there and start bombarding Nod's ref and once I decided to stop it i threw last 6 rockets and I was returning to my base and when I was half a way to it and I hear "Nod tiberium ref destroyed" I say "I love you Eva, will we have a date" ok however dudes, I always use 'point whoring' when it's like proper building bombarding you understand, gr8

I don't have too much of a problem with point whoring as long as they don't sit there the whole time. Say, if they have an artillery and are at some building, and then their own team base comes under attack, so they go and help out vehicles or something, then I'm cool with that. But I can't stand it when they complain about their team doing poorly

"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

im going to say waht i think about poinwhoring, until 3 days ago i did not know what it was, now i think its a moronic word, put it this way, if it takes 2 techs/hotties to repair a building it wil slow the enimie, second if u are on the losing team u have 2 ways to win, go on the offensive, or place a beacon, point whoring is one way to mess up the enimie, i often take out the refinery in mesa all by myself when im GDI, have u ever entered a game a see you team down 2000 points and u walk in and there is no planed defense??? cause frankly if u dont go commando, you have no hope to live, but yes, i do go back and defend the base, hell, in mesa ive always say "team defend the rear, mass stealth tanks are comming!", what happpens, i pick up a meduim and no one helps me cause they want to attack a powerplant!
to sum my words up, pointwhoreing is good, but go back to defend when u even see 1 unit come!
jsut msn me to know me

In my opinion, you do whatever you can for your team, I don't mind being an engineer, i actually find it quite interesting how dumb people who are in a tank are though when it comes to a hottie repairing them. engineers are great, and even if you suck, when you use them you still can feel good about yourself.
another topic should be discussed here.
What the hell is camping?
What are tunnel beacons?

Depends on how it's used. If that point whore ties up the entire enemy defense while your team does something useful, more power to them.
IMHO, there's a very simple solution to hill-campers on hourglass: buy one of your own artillery, and blow them right off the hill. It's not that big of a problem, really- if there's a whore on the hill, that's one less person that's on defense at their base. I don't see how that can be called base-to-base, either- the top of the hill is the middle of the map. I've never seen anyone complain about any of the other maps where you can hit the enemy base from the middle of the map.
I'm an engineer about 3/4 of the time I play, most often because nobody else wants to give up their attacks for a little repair time. The surprising thing is that, by the end of the game, I'm usually in one of the top 3 spots on my team.

Just for you, furyman77:
A camping scenario: You're Nod, both teams have all their buildings, but GDI's winning by 2500 points with only 5 minutes left in the game. GDI just "camps" in their base, because they know the ONLY way for you to win would be to attack their base, destroy a building and roll in. As a result, they don't attack you much at all, so their defense is rock-solid and you still have no way of winning. This is fair in a way, but it makes the game VERY boring.

Well when you are in mesa pounding the weapons factory all day, you win.
Every vehicle which is build by gdi blows up.
The only way for gdi to destroy you is by killing you with infantary.
But the nod art is a good anti-infantary weapon
